Geography and nature of Asia
Asia is almost impossible to describe because of its vast area. The Asian continent stretches from the Arctic Ocean in the north to the tropical islands of Indonesia in the south and from the Islamic countries in southwest Asia to the countries of Hinduism and Buddhism in the east. It is here that the Himalayas are the highest mountain range in the world, the deserts of Mongolia and Siberia with the least rainfall in the world, and the dense rainforests of Indonesia and Malaysia. The areas full of landscape contrasts are inhabited by various species of animals, from reindeer, wolves and tarpans in the polar and circumpolar regions to tigers, elephants and peacocks in the tropical belt.
Asian population
There are many vast territories in Asia, such as deserts in Saudi Arabia or tundra in Russia, which are practically uninhabited. On the contrary, other regions of Asia are among the most densely populated in the world, especially where monsoon rains and the large Yangtze, Mekong and Yellow Rivers provide fertility for the land. A large percentage of the Asian population lives in cities. In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the number of residents, including in the metropolitan areas of Chongqing in China and Karachi in Pakistan. The total population of Asia has long exceeded three billion people.
Asian History
Many Asian countries were colonized. Exotic goods attracted Europeans interested in trade. After Vasco da Gama discovered the sea route from Europe to India, filled with aromatic spices, colonization gained momentum. Some countries remained independent, but they were also heavily influenced by European culture, especially in China during the opium War.
Asian Tourist Attractions
Although opium and spices are no longer a destination in themselves, the prospect of a trip to Asia constantly evokes a lot of emotions. The opportunities to spend a unique vacation on the endless Asian continent are almost limitless. The Forbidden City in the center of Beijing, the Angkor Wat temple in the Cambodian jungle, the Indian Taj Mahal made of white marble and other pearls of local culture are real tourist attractions. Going on a trip along the Trans-Siberian railway, a tourist can admire the landscapes of North Asia, and when visiting luxurious Dubai, he can see many interesting places. Regardless of the area of interest, a trip to the largest continent in the world is almost always a guarantee of an unforgettable experience. escortoo.com
